So the first day went well. I walked 30 minutes around my neighborhood and considering I was nursing a slight hangover and Sundays are my lazy days, I consider this a major accomplishment. Today, I'm working out with the BFF and she usually kicks my butt with her crazy drills. Working out with a buddy definitely helps.
I also managed to finish 8 glasses of water. Note to self, do not wait until close to bedtime to drink the last 3 or 4 glasses. Getting up every hour to go to the bathroom doesn't make for restful sleep. Will start early today and finish before dinner. I decided that I can't drink any wine or beer until I have had my 8 glasses. That's some motivation!
I woke up this morning and weighed myself, 165.5 lbs. The most I have weighed in a long time. A bit of a downer. My hope is that by getting healthy, I lose a few lbs. I used to be obsessed with the number and my goal back in the day was to weigh 145. I would get close but never to that point. Would it be nice to weigh 145? Maybe, as long as I'm happy, feel good and don't feel like I'm depriving myself all the time.
I do feel like I'm coming down with a cold. Must push through it...
Just 29 more days to go..

30 Day Challenge
As many folks do, I too have a few resolutions for the New Year. One being to maintain more of a work/life balance in my day to day life and be a lady of my word. And the other is taking better care of my health. I realize that taking better care of me sounds really broad but I'm still figuring out what works best for me. So to help me achieve these goals and help me measure what works, I opted to breaking down the year to better health into 30 day challenges because I heard that if you do the same task for 30 days straight it becomes habit.
For January, my 30 challenge is to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and workout at least 30 minutes day. To help with the workouts, I signed up for Rogue Running 1 month training, so that should cover at least 3 days of workouts a week for the next month. The rest will be finding some good yoga glasses to help me strengthen my core, doing some workouts with my BFF and running around the neighborhood.
I'll keep you posted....
